Daddy’s Grilled Chicken Glaze

My daddy has the best grilled chicken sauce.

It is super simple to make and it is always a hit! I’ll share dad’s super secret recipe with you, then tell you how I edited it a bit.
Dad’s recipe has 3 simple ingredients: Honey, butter and lemon.

Daddy's Grilled Chicken Glaze
Dad's original recipe!
Recipe type: Main
Cuisine: American
  • 1 lb. chicken thighs
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp salted butter
  1. Melt honey, butter and lemon juice together.
  2. Heat up the grill.
  3. Use a basting brush to lightly coat the chicken, then put it on the hot grill.
  4. The honey will burn if your fire is up too high, so be careful!
  5. Cook until well done, coating the chicken a couple times.
If you want a little more depth of flavor, press 2 cloves of garlic, 1 Tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning into the glaze.

Dad’s version is great, but I spiced it up a bit. A little soy sauce, garlic and Italian seasoning amps it up a bit. Both options are awesome and will make your BBQ chicken the talk of the town.
When you’re grilling your chicken with the glaze, keep an eye on it. The honey will burn quickly if you’re not paying attention. Which version are you going to try? Let me know in the comments!
